The Youth Ministry of Sterling Boulevard Church of Christ seeks to be a dynamic force in the lives of young people which:

Evangelism

Ministry Leader:  Ernest Brothers Sr.

 

VISION STATEMENT

The family of God going into the entire world, preaching the gospel to every creature. (Mark 16:15)  “Every Christian leading at least “One Soul” to Christ.”  “Each one to reach one”

 

BELIEFS

We believe that…

·        We believe that every ministry in the church must be evangelistically based.

·        We believe that every Christian must be evangelistically minded.

·        We believe that friendship evangelism is an effective method to evangelize the community through the small groups and the one-on-one method.

·        We believe that an evangelism outreach program to the community is an effective method to evangelize the community.

·        We believe that providing a solid evangelism-training program to the church will equip every Christian to be evangelistic.

 

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES

·        To promote evangelism in every ministry.

·        To teach everyone to have the mind of Christ.

·        To develop every Christian to be knowledgeable and wise in the Scriptures so that they may teach one-on-one Bible studies, and conduct small group studies in their homes.

·        To identify the needs of the community, and to develop an outreach program based on those needs.

Food Fellowship

VISION STATEMENT

Our vision is to serve others physical food as well as spiritual food through fellowship.

 

BELIEFS

We believe that…

·        Sharing a common meal symbolizes and helps to create Family togetherness and unity.

·        Unity among members is essential for church growth.

·        The food fellowship ministry can be used to show love to unbelievers.

·        We can help to nurture multiculturalism within the family of God.

 

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES

·        To promote fellowship within the congregation.  (Acts 2:42)

·        To promote unity and involvement among the members of the congregation.

·        To show love to our surrounding community regardless of race, color, culture or ethnicity.

·        To involve all members in the planning and serving of all fellowship meals.

VISION STATEMENT

Showing love and care with a unique and positive attitude to let every visitor know that we are the family of God.

 

BELIEFS

We believe that…

·        Greeters have the first opportunity to show love towards visitors.

·        Friendliness will open doors to evangelize our un-churched guests because each visitor presents a special opportunity.

·        Each visitor should have the opportunity to worship God in a comfortable family-like atmosphere.

 

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES

·        To help every visitor feel welcomed in worship.

·        To inspire each visitor to have a desire to return.

·        To develop and involve members who have the spiritual gift of hospitality and related gifts.

·        To be creative in our visitors package with emphasis being placed on special occasions i.e., Fathers and Mothers Day (pin, stickers, etc.)

·        To help them to see Christ in us.

VISION STATEMENT

The Audio/Visual Ministry (AVM) of Sterling Boulevard Church of Christ (SBCC) seeks to provide clear sound & visual imagery, without distortion or feedback, for each aspect of the worship service.  Thereby:

·        Giving us the ability to reach people outside the church and expose them to God’s love through clearly recorded audiocassette lessons.

·        Helping the listener retain or understand the sermon through visual imagery. 

 

BELIEFS

We believe that:

·        Listening to clear audiocassette reproductions of the weekly sermons will increase spiritual awareness in the listener.

·        The use of visual aids activates the visual senses which aids in the learning process.

Providing people with opportunities for Christian interaction.

We believe that the Transportation Ministry will:

·        Show that Sterling Boulevard is willing to reach out and help the lost.

·        Provide opportunities for services to members and non-members of the church.

Building and Grounds

Ministry Leader:  Sabino Téllez 

 

VISION STATEMENT

The Building and Grounds ministry seeks to communicate a positive message by keeping our building and grounds in an attractive state.  We seek to provide a comfortable atmosphere that encourages members to enjoy laboring in the vineyard and influences visitors to return.

 

BELIEFS

We believe that…

·        Providing a comfortable atmosphere will enable us to focus on the Word.

·        Having an attractive building will encourage those in the community to visit our assembly.

·        A clean environment will enable us to become a "bench-mark" church.

·        A clean environment demonstrates our commitment.

·        Maintaining our environment both internally and externally will express to the community that   

·        God deserves the best.

·        Having a comfortable atmosphere will encourage all cultures of people to praise God.

 

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES

·        To encourage members to assist in the Building and Grounds Ministry (BGM).      

·        To maintain an attractive view of the building and grounds.

·        To develop workers in the BGM to become spiritually motivated.

Building Relationships, Equipping, and Developing men for service.

Our mission is to prayerfully develop and equip men to better serve God and to bring people closer while building a better relationship with people of all cultures and races.

 

BELIEFS

We believe that:

·        By developing our men through teaching, they will grow in spiritual wisdom and knowledge to become more pleasing to God.

·        Serving God requires us to grow closer to people relationally.

·        Working together as a team, we will be better able to identify our spiritual gifts.

·        Worshipping God in a decent and orderly manner will glorify God.

·        Developing every man will enable them to be "on fire" for the Lord.

·        Studying different cultures and lifestyles, such as music, food, sports and methods of worship, will facilitate ways to attract people of all ethnic backgrounds.

 

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES

·        To build our men with spiritual knowledge and the wisdom of God’s word.

·        To enable our men to identify their spiritual gifts.

Ladies Prayer Group

VISION STATEMENT

Our vision is to be earnest communicators with God through prayer as a group of faithful believers, giving honor unto Him, as one who hears and answers to our spoken words.

 

BELIEFS

We believe that…

·        God hears everyone’s prayer and will answer in accordance to their needs.

·        God will support the prayer group ministry, so that we will bring others closer to him.

·        God always takes care of us and will always meet our physical and spiritual needs.

·        God’s love for us will never cease, because it is an eternal love.

·        There is POWER in prayer because its many results have shaped and edified our lives.

·        If we leave our burdens to God, he will take care of them.

·        We could inspire others to come into the body of Christ through the edification of his word and prayer.

·        We can receive sufficient training through prayer.

·        Through prayer God will shape the church in its direction and develop effective ministers, elders, deacons, ministry leaders, teachers, those with special gifts and supporters to provide a body of faithful members who will build up the church.

·        Faithful prayers without any doubt can move anything that may become an obstacle.

·        Our prayer life could help us to become like the virtuous women in the bible.

 

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES

·                    To encourage one another to be strengthened in prayer.

·                    To make known to others how God has answered prayers to various situations in our lives.

•         To let everyone know that we are available to pray with and for them.

·                    To provide a weekly spiritual message that will increase our knowledge of God’s Word 

            toward the development of spiritual maturity.

·                    To teach others how to pray steadfastly and effectively as a support group of encouragers.

·                    To maintain a prayer list of contacts for times of immediate need.

·                    To develop workshops and/or ladies retreats for the learning of God’s word, up- building       

            of our spiritual attitudes, and to form closer relationships by fellowshipping one with 

            another.

·                    To provide a channel for prayer requests for those in need of God’s answer to challenging 

            and struggling situations.

·                    To fellowship with one another by going house-to-house in love and peace.

To provide welcome hospitality to all visitors who come to the prayer group.

Ministry Leader:    Jesús Gallardo

 

VISION STATEMENT

Reaching out to all minorities in the community to expand the family of God

 

BELIEFS

We believe that…

·        All ethnicities of humankind are significant in God’s eyes.

·        We should not allow language or cultural variables to hinder us from communicating the gospel to all.

·        Any talents that we have been blessed with should be used to give glory and honor to God.

·        If we begin to reach out to the Hispanic community they will be drawn by our Christ-like desire to transcend cultural barriers to celebrate together the diverse family of God

 

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES

·        To prove to the community that we are a congregation that believes that God sees men as neither Jew nor Gentile, but as one blood.

·        To overcome language and cultural variables to build godly relationships.

·        To empower others with the ability to teach the gospel in other languages.
